A Series of Galleries Showcasing A Retrospective of the Men Immortalized by the Lens of Colt Studio Founder and Iconic Photographer Jim French (a.k.a. Rip Colt) as well as Current Colt Models Presented through the Generous Cooperation and Support of John Rutherford, Executive Producer, Colt Studio Group.

QueerChicago is proud and honored to be able to present for the first time on the Internet a retrospective exhibit of the classic work of renowned photographer Jim French (a.k.a. Rip Colt), founder of Colt Studio.

The images making up Classic Colt will be presented in a series of galleries throughout the web sites which comprise the Queer Empire and will span the four decades of Jim French's work as well as the continuing tradition of Colt Men being carried on by John Rutherford. When complete, the Classic Colt Galleries will chronicle the evolution of the iconic ideal which is the Colt Man through eight galleries with rotating exhibits, each gallery linked from QueerChicago
